Battelle for Kids
Term: 2009-2011
Paul Cynkar is managing director of
operations for Battelle for Kids. The independent,
not-for-profit organization supports educators’
school-improvement efforts through strategic consulting,
professional development, innovative tools and
resources, data management and technology solutions,
research and evaluation services, and communications
counsel and support.
Paul began his new post Dec. 1, 2008, following 26 years
as an educator and administrator with Worthington
Schools, most recently as assistant superintendent. In
that position, Paul was responsible for overseeing the
day-to-day operations of the Worthington School
District, including transportation, food service,
technology and facilities. He led the district’s
response to declining enrollment and was instrumental in
helping the staff address new ways to deliver education
to better prepare students for the 21st workforce.
Paul joined the school district in 1983. He served as
principal of Perry Middle School for one year and
Worthingway Middle School for 14 years. He worked at the
district office as an administrator for 10 years.
Fellow trustees welcome Paul's reputation for innovation
and problem-solving and look forward to his experience
with the school district as the Chamber continues
school-business partnership activities, including
assistance with the International Business Academy,
career exploration, the STEM school project and
workforce development initiatives.
